Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Provision of porters service for the period of 7 months at Newcastle Regional Hospital x 6 staff. Scope: a. Responsibilities of the service provider: • Provision of four (4) staff members" day shift (07h00 to 19h00) and two (2) night shift (19h00 to 07h00) from that 4 staff member"s one mast be the supervisor; • Porters must work 7 days per week including weekends and public holidays; • The company senior representative must conduct a site visit at least once a week - preferably on a week day; NB: Replacement staff/relievers to cover leaves and emergencies is the responsibility of the awarded service provider; • Ensure that all company staff are provided with uniform and name tags for easy identification; • The contracted company will be responsible and liable for any loss and/or damage due to theft or negligence by their staff members; • The successful bidder must conduct medical screening for all employees. b. Main duties of porters: • Transport patients in wheelchairs and stretchers to the respective wards and departments; • Load corpses on the stretcher and transport to the mortuary; • Transport specimens and results from wards and departments to laboratory and from laboratory to wards and departments; • Escort patients to the wards and diagnostic departments; • Clean and report faulty wheelchairs and stretchers to the cleaning supervisor; • Return wheelchairs and stretchers to the respective ward or department after transportation of patient; • Collect all wheelchairs and stretchers and return to respective wards and departments at the end shift; • Assist with receiving of patients by checking the front door for arrivals and using wheelchairs or stretchers, also assist with carrying of suitcases when necessary; • Assist with transportation of babies in incubators only when accompanied by a nurse; • To assist with transport of medical equipment including oxygen cylinders; • Notify and sign the register at reception when leaving porters desk; • Deliver and collect patient medical documents (OPD charts, x-rays, etc) during transit; • Porters to collect reports daily at 17h00 and 05h00 from wards and departments; • At all times to be neatly and appropriately dressed in uniform with ID badges and comply with all health and safety regulations; • At all times be courteous and polite to staff, patients, visitors, doctors and maintain patient confidentiality, etc; • No staff to participate in any strike action within the institution; • Assist with the movement of consumables (stores), furniture and equipment to wards and departments. Scope: Provision of a comprehensive sanitary bins service (provide bins, collect contents, sanitise and safely dispose) on a weekly basis, to the female toilet facilities within various buildings of the City. Comprehensive Weekly sanitary service: Once off Supply and installation of Sanitary Bins, and thereafter maintenance, and safe disposal of sanitary bin contents. A minimum size of 350mm x 520mm x 84mm, at various Municipal owned/occupied buildings, smaller bins are not acceptable. All chemicals and plastics used in rendering the service must be manufactured according to ISO 9002/ISO 14001 standards. Sanitary bins must always be available, in working order and free of any damage. Weekly service includes: The replacement of clean bins or, empty and safely remove and dispose of bin contents and sanitize bins. Reusable waste containers and waste-movement carts shall be thoroughly cleaned with each service. Disposal must be done at an environmentally acceptable medical refuse disposable site. Bags containing waste shall be such that their contents are prevented from escaping. Every possible effort should be made to avoid the escape of any hazardous material during normal operations. The Sanitary bins will remain the property of successful bidder. The replacement cost for lost/stolen/damaged bins will remain the successful bidder’s responsibility. The South African Social Security Agency hereby invites proposals from potential service providers for the provision of specialized Employee Wellness services to the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) for the period of 3 years. Scope: The service will be provided to a staff compliment of approximately 8 000 employees and their families at Head Office (HO) and all nine (9) Regions including District and Local Offices. The counselling services (telephonic and face-to-face) will also cover the employees’ immediate families and dependents (living in the same household). In case of an employee’s death the bereaved family will be legible to receive counselling services up to a period of 6 months after employee’s death. The Employee Wellness Programme will encompass a comprehensive range of services and initiatives aimed at addressing the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of SASSA employees.
