Scope of work: Amatola Water requirements: The Unit Standard Title: Lift and move a load using mechanical lifting equipment. The following training outcomes should cover the following exit-level outcomes: • Explain the factors critical to lifting and moving loads, • Prepare to lift and move a load, • Lift and move a load, • Make the load available for production purposes. The Unit Standard Title: Operate overhead/gantry cranes. The following training outcomes should cover the following exit-level outcomes: • Demonstrating knowledge of the functions of a crane, • Identifying the safety and suitability of the crane type prior to utilisation, • Inspecting and recording the operational fitness of the components of a crane, • Operating an overhead crane in a safe and competent manner, • Accessing available support systems and emergency services in case of incidents and accidents. This course is targeted at employees with responsibilities for functions within the workplace that relate to operating overhead gantry hoist. The training delegates are targeted as follows: • Novice training is targeted for 15 employees, • Training to be provided at Amatola Water Premises at 17 Grant Davis Road, Nahoon Dam, East London.
