Addendum: Amendment to document and extension of closing date: Bids are hereby invited for the appointment of a panel of part-time adjudicators for the Community Schemes Ombud Service for a period of three (3) years. Scope of work: The successful Part Time Adjudicators will, as and when required by the CSOS, be required to, inter alia do the following: • Adjudicate disputes on the papers, either virtually or physically. Preparing and issuing of Notices of Set down for all Adjudication hearings (e.g. MS Teams, Face-to-face); • Conduct Investigations in terms of Section 50 and 51 of the CSOS Act (e.g. conduct investigations, inspections, enter or inspect assets, records, or other documents as shall be required in terms of S51 of the CSOS Act); • Convert settlement agreements / proposals received from parties during final written submissions, into adjudication orders; • Draft enforcement orders; • Respond promptly to CSOS’ Legal Services in respect of appeals to adjudication orders; • Respond promptly to the Regional Ombud / Senior Manager: Dispute Resolution in respect of complaints, delays & queries; • Update the SharePoint dispute tracking system with all Section 50, Section 51 investigations, adjudication orders and enforcement orders; • Attend to the requests for the setting aside, variations and amendments of adjudication orders as per clause 25 and clause 32 of the CSOS Practice Directive for Dispute Resolution, 2019, as amended; • Comment on legislative amendments regarding adjudications; • Prepare and submit monthly performance reports to the Senior Manager: Dispute Resolution and Regional Ombud on the last business day of each consecutive month; • Conciliation of CSOS disputes within prescribed timeframes – facilitate conciliations and draft settlement agreements, conciliation reports and non-resolution certificates.
