Purpose of Course: The purpose of this training is to provide Data Analytics training to CCT officials on Basic R for data analysis. The service provider will be required to: Conduct and facilitate an online workshop for a broad spectrum of City officials and political office bearers spanning a number of disciplines. Target Audience: Professionals with data analysis needs. Learning Outcomes: Proficient user of basic R functionalities. 1. Basic R for data analysis desired topics (including but not limited to): • Beginner-level familiarity with RStudio; • Ability to create and manipulate basic data types (strings, numeric, integers, booleans, lists, matrices, data frames); • Ability to import libraries; • Ability to read and write common file types (local files and object storage technologies); • Understanding of logic and flow control (for, and while loops, user defined functions, and if/then/else statements; • Ability to conduct basic statistical analysis: - Calculation of estimators (mean, median, mode); - Understanding of the law of large numbers and its implications for analysis; - Calculation basic probability distributions (normal, Gaussian, Poisson); - Calculating confidence intervals and significance levels; - Visualize basic statistical plots, such as histograms, bar charts, pie charts, line charts, etc; • Ability to write and execute R scripts; • Ability to work with and knit R Markdown scripts; • Ability to understand the basics of stack traces for debugging. 2.
