Scope of work: To repair and recondition the gas energy absorbers (buffers) as follows but not limited to: - Collect gas absorbers from Durban Container Terminal – Pier 2 store. - Strip and carefully examine all components for wear and damages. - Replace all worn and damaged components. - Replace high speed impact energy absorption seals. - Replace all bellow covers. - The unit should be finished in a marine surface coating to RAL1004. - The maximum energy capacity of the unit needs to be 224 KJ at maximum end force resistance of 700KN. - A minimum energy absorption efficiency of 80% should be achieved for a full stroke of the energy absorber. - The unit must be pre-charged with an inert gas to ensure the gassed energy absorber is reusable multiple times. - All spares used and bellow covers must be OEM or OEM approved. - Deliver the absorbers to Durban Container Terminal – Pier 2 store.
