Quotations are hereby invited for the following: Appointment of service provider for the supply, delivery, commissioning and in-house demonstration to the lab users of a DNA/RNA concentration vacuum at the Directorate: Plant Health Diagnostic, Plant Quarantine Station, Stellenbosch, 7599. DNA/RNA concentration vacuum should have the following specifications: • It must be designed for fast, efficient concentration of DNA and RNA; • It must be a compact, easy to use with smallest integrated benchtop unit; • Corrosion-resistant with a PTFE coated chamber; • Must have built-in, oil free vacuum pump; • Must include a rotor that holds 36 x 1 -2.0 ml tubes; • Temperature set-point must be ambient, 35°C to 65°C in 5°C increments; • Heat time setting must be from 1m to 9h 59m and continuous; • Run time setting must be from 1m to 9h 59m; • Audible alarm to alert users when run is complete; • Ambient temperature to prevent sample denaturing; • Safety feature should include a latched lid and lock indicator to ensure safety during operation; • Plug type must have a compatible socket for use in South Africa; • Must be able to use Solvent and Solvent combinations of Water, PCR buffers, Ethanol and water.
