Purpose: - Use of biodegradable impregnated/freeze-dried/compressed bio-enzyme products for the remediation of the City of Cape Town’s polluted aquatic systems (e.g, lakes, ponds, vleis, rivers and estuaries). The products are required to break down organic wastes and improve the overall water quality of these aquatic systems. The product shall not: - Discolour the water in any way, - Leach toxic chemicals/bio-chemicals into the water body or waterway, - Adversely affect water quality in any way, - Be of a liquid or powder form, - Be used in conjunction with other products for “optimum performance”, The product should ideally: - Be in a “brick/block/compressed” form or in any other relevant solid form, - Be biodegradable, - Be a slow release product preferably lasting a month, - Be easy to use and apply, and - Be non-toxic to the human skin.
