The South African Weather Service (SAWS) hereby invites experienced and suitable service providers to provide data centre hosting facilities that can accommodate HPC, server and network connectivity requirements for a period of (5) Five years. Scope: The South African Weather Service (SAWS) requires a service provider to host ICT infrastructure through a Datacenter Hosting agreement, as well as providing connectivity to SAWS Wide Area Network (WAN), TENET (SANReN) and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) services for a period of five (5) years. Solution: SAWS requires a secured Hosted Datacenter service which will be the Primary Datacenter from which 90% of all operations are executed. Connectivity between the new Datacenter and Head Office building in Centurion must be provided. Planned connectivity to Disaster Recovery (DR) site to be based in the Cape Town Airport is also required and must be included in the planning of solution. The required services must support critical business initiatives of optimal ICT services, stabilization, business continuity and optimization. The requirements are also based on a capacity management plan and forecasting to deal with ICT service provisioning alignment, SLA/OLA requirements, performance, improve user experience, and most importantly service availability. The implementation and commissioning of service will be done in 2 phases. Source: ONLINE TENDERS
