Quotations are hereby invited for the appointment of a service provider to conduct ground water monitoring for a period of three (03) year at the Port of Richards Bay. The purpose of specification is to appoint a reputable and independent environmental service provider to undertake groundwater assessment within the identified boreholes located at the Port of Richards Bay. Groundwater is a major source of water supply for drinking, and it is also a vital element of groundwater dependent ecosystems such as wetlands therefore it is important to monitor the health and sustainability of our groundwater. The details of the boreholes are as follows: • The depth of the boreholes is between 20m and 44m; • Each borehole is a 140mm (diameter) perforated/slotted casing for the full depth of the primary aquifer to allow sampling at any level. Slots are less than 0.5mm; • The static water level is between 1.1m and 3.85m; • The top of each borehole casing is capped with a steel pipe and with locking cap surrounded by a concrete plinth; • The top of the borehole is fitted with a 1m section of stainless-steel pipe with a lockable cap and a concrete slab cast around the borehole for protection. Written quotation are hereby invited for the following: Supply and install vertical flat rap razor wire, 900mm radius for 120 overhead line poles 4m vertical.
