         Op 15.09.2018 opent in het MOU (Oudenaarde) de tentoonstelling ‘Adriaen Brouwer – Meester van emoties’. Adriaen Brouwer (1606 Oudenaarde – 1638 Antwerpen) was een tijdgenoot van P.P. Rubens. De tentoonstelling loopt tot 16.12.2018.

         Adriaen Brouwer werd wellicht in Oudenaarde geboren als zoon van een kartonschilder van Oudenaardse wandtapijten. Vanuit kunsthistorisch oogpunt is Brouwers oeuvre van uitzonderlijk belang: als overgangsfiguur slaat hij een brug tussen de zestiende-eeuwse Bruegeltraditie en de landschaps- en genretaferelen van de volgende eeuw. Ondanks zijn roem in eigen tijd geniet Adriaen Brouwer vandaag (nog) niet de bekendheid van tijdgenoten als een Rubens of Van Dyck. Hij was nochtans zeer getalenteerd en zijn werk erg gegeerd: onder meer Rubens en Rembrandt waren fervente verzamelaars. De toegankelijkheid en de gelaagdheid van zijn werk maken Brouwer een van de boeiendste schilders van de Lage Landen.

         De kunstenaar maakt integraal deel uit van de Oudenaardse culturele identiteit: lokale legenden verhalen over zijn leven en zijn naam weerklinkt in diverse producten en evenementen. Het MOU wil deze leemte vullen en biedt het grote publiek de kans om de veelzijdigheid, de hoge artistieke kwaliteit en het innovatieve karakter van Brouwers kunst te ontdekken.

         Dit Oudenaards project is door Toerisme Vlaanderen verkozen tot een hefboomproject onder Vlaamse Meesters. Bijgevolg staat Toerisme Vlaanderen mee in voor de opvolging en conformiteit.

         Via deze onderhandelingsprocedure zonder voorafgaande bekendmaking wenst de stad Oudenaarde een firma aan te stellen die in staat voor onder meer het transport van de kunstwerken van en naar de musea, het afhalen van de koeriers en conservators, verpakkingsmateriaal, het boeken van de hotels en reistickets.

         De vooropgestelde timing is als volgt: eind augustus – begin september 2018: plaatsen van de objecten.
